"Meeting Without Moving"
- Press Release 20th July 2009
‘’Swine Flu’’- Businesses
Still Need To Conduct –‘’Face To Face’’
Business Meetings
The Solution - ‘’Meeting
without Moving’’
With the UKs death toll from ‘’Swine Flu’’
now at 29 and well over 55,000 new cases reported last
week alone, combine this with the UK Governments latest
predictions and forecasts of a third of the UK population
becoming infected in the next 2/3 months, the UK death
toll could rise to between 19,000 to 65,000.
Already many counties around the world are deploying
at all major countries entry points ‘’body
temperature’’ reading machines to indentify
and then quarantine suspected ‘’Swine Flu’’
carriers.
As a result all business leaders across the World are
restricting travel itinerary and plans of their senior
executives and managers, as it could void any key man
insurance cover.
The UK risks sliding into a long deflationary recession
if the H1N1 Swine Flu Pandemic develops along lines
predicted by the Government, according to the Ernst
& Young ITEM Club report today.
The group said ‘’a pandemic reaching 100,00
cases a day by August, and lasting six months, would
lead to a 7.5pc fall in GDP this year. The lingering
damage would cause a further fall of 1.2pc next year."With
the western world still teetering on the brink of deflation
it is not an exaggeration to say that a pandemic on
this scale could tip it over the edge," it said.
But ‘’face to face’’ business
meetings still need to be conducted on a daily basis
as the world still needs to trade, especially in this
current Global recession.
As a solution to actual physical travel, a Gloucestershire
-Hartpury based business owner of a UK and Middle East
Video Conferencing company, has already seen a huge
increase in enquires for daily / hourly rental of his
Worldwide video conferencing rooms / bureaus across
the World.
Roger Paine- Managing Director of Video Meeting International
Limited a Gloucestershire (Hartpury) and Dubai - UAE
based independent and impartial video conferencing solutions
provider, states ‘’video conferencing allows
individuals or companies to hold ‘’face
to face’’ meetings in real live time, with
no delay to sound or vision, in the same room environment,
i.e. group, or ‘’one to one’’
meetings / discussions. You can discuss, share and alter
documents or drawings in real time and do everything
that you would normally do in an actual physical meeting’,
except increase your risks of Swine Flu’’.
Paine went on further to say, ‘’even during
this current local and Global Recession,
video conferencing actually saves both individuals and
companies of all sizes, time plus actual overall travel
expenses / costs and also reduces significantly both
companies and individuals carbon footprint traditionally
caused by physical travel’’. ‘’It’s
Meeting Without Moving’’, Paine Said.
Video Conferencing allows either individuals or companies
to hold ‘’face to face’’ business
meetings, or interviews over the internet or using ISDN
phone lines, without the need to actually physically
travel to any destination that is currently infected,
or increase the risk of infection due to non essential
business or personnel travel.
